Stephan Renz

Stephan Renz is Chairman of the Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP) on Heat Pumping Technologies of the International Energy Agency (IEA). Since more than 25 years he runs a consultancy in the fields of economy, energy and environment, located in Basel, Switzerland. On behalf of the
Swiss Federal Office of Energy he is the head of the research programme on heat pumping technologies and the head of the research programme on combustion based energy systems. In this function he is a member of other IEA TCP’s such as Combustion, Advance Moter Fuels and Advanced Fuel Cells. He is responsible for the Swiss Heat Pump Conference, the organizer of the Swiss Cogeneration Seminar and co-organizer of the biannual Swiss Conference on Combustion Research. Stephan Renz holds a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ).
