For the Daikin Best Student Award a number of 10 papers have been submitted by students.
An international jury has selected five papers for a presentation at the session. The jury consisted of:

- Prof. Neil Hewitt – Ulster University
- Dr. Hatef Madani – KTH – Stockholm
- Marion Bakker – RVO –Netherlands
The papers that have been presented were:
- 3.6.1 ORC Driven Heat Pump Running on Gas Bearings for Domestic Applications: Proof of Concept and Thermo-Economic Improvement Potential – Ms. Violette Mounier, EPFL
- 3.6.2 Comfortable and high-efficient desiccant-enhanced direct expansion heat pump – Mr. Yaodong Tu, Shanghai Jiaotong University
- 3.6.3 Different ethyl alcohol secondary fluids used for GSHP in Europe – Miss. Monika Ignatowicz, KTH Royal Institute of Technology
- 3.6.4 High Temperature Heat Pump Integration using Zeotropic Working Fluids for Spray Drying Facilities – Mr. Benjamin Zühlsdorf, Technical University of Denmark
- 3.6.5 Comparison of energy performance of simulated and measured heat pump systems in existing multi-family residential buildings – Mr. Tuomo Niemelä, Granlund Consulting Oy / Aalto University
After the presentations by the students there was a public voting with a close call. At the Conference dinner the General Manager Heating and Renewables from Daikin Europe mr. Patrick Combrez handed the Daikin Best Student Award to:
- Yaodong Tu from Shanghai Jiaotong University, China
- Monika Ignatowicz from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockhom Sweden
