Professor XU Wei has served as the director of Institute of Building Environment and Energy (IBEE) at the China Academy of Building Research (CABR). He is the Chairman of China Committee of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (CCHVAC), the Vice President of Chinese Association of Refrigeration, Vice Chairmen of National HVAC and Cleaning Equipment Standardization Technical Committee, the Vice President of National Technical Committee on Building Energy Efficiency of Standardization Administration of China, Director of Heat Pump Committee of China Construction Industry Association, Commissary of China Green Building Council and the Leader of Green Public Building Group, and Commissary of Building Energy Saving Expert Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. He is also the Vice President of E2 (Heat Pump and Heat Recovery) Committee of International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR). Country delegate of the International Energy Agency-Energy Conservation through Energy Storage Implementing Agreement.
His research field is heating and air-conditioning equipment and system energy-saving techniques and the relative standards. He has participated in numerous national technical projects. He compiled the national standard “Code for Operation and Management of Air-Conditioning and Ventilation System”, “Technical Code for Ground-Source Heat Pump System” and the industry standard, “Technical Specification for Floor Radiant Heating”. He has published the “Temperature Control and Energy Metering for Heating System”, “Technical Guide for Ground-Source Heat Pump”, “Heating Control Technique”, “Technical Guide for Civil Residential Energy Metering”, “Technical Guide for Renewable Energy Application in Buildings”, “The Report of Solar Development in China,” and other more than 30 papers.
